Most of our work this month went into improving how clients enter your system, how cases stay organized, and how workflows run without manual effort.
As firms start using Vala across more of their cases, these pieces matter more than anything else.
We also shipped several updates you’ll notice immediately.
We’ll be at NOVA next month. If you’re attending, looking forward to seeing many of you there.

What shipped
Intake & Client Setup
Getting clients into Vala should be fast and structured from the start.
You can now:
Quickly create clients using Quick Add
Capture cleaner data with standardized intake formatting
View and manage custom fields directly in the client profile
Embed Vala intake forms directly on your website
This reduces back-and-forth and ensures data flows cleanly into forms later.
Document Organization
We’ve made improvements to how documents are processed and organized.
More reliable extraction of conditions and key details
Custom tags for clients and documents
A new Library for reusable documents across your team
This makes it easier to manage large caseloads and find what you need without digging.
Automations
We expanded what you can automate across your workflow.
You can now:
Automatically update client status (Lead → Active)
Auto-fill forms based on intake or workflow actions
Send client portal invites automatically
The goal is simple: less manual work, more consistency across cases.
Client Portal & Messaging
We’ve made updates to improve communication with clients.
Rich text formatting in messages
Attach documents directly from your Library
Improved document visibility for clients
Easier access with a direct login link
This helps you stay responsive without needing to manage everything manually.
What we’re building next
Workflow → Forms
We’re continuing to push toward a more complete workflow where intake and records directly drive form generation.
Soon you’ll be able to:
Generate forms more dynamically based on structured client data
Reduce manual edits across common workflows
Move faster from intake → completed claim
Deeper Case Organization
As cases grow, organization becomes more important.
We’re working on:
Better ways to structure and group documents
Improved visibility into how cases are progressing
More control over how your team manages workload
Automation Expansion
We’re continuing to expand what can run automatically in the background.
Expect:
More triggers across the client lifecycle
More actions tied to documents, forms, and status changes
Less need to manually move cases forward
Ask
If you run into anything or have ideas, click Get Help in the platform.
We’ve upgraded it so requests now turn into trackable support tickets, where you can follow progress and get updates directly. No more need for emails back and forth.
We’ll also be at NOVA next month.
If you’re attending, come say hi.
We’re hosting a dinner on April 16 at 7:30 PM at the Brazilian steakhouse next door to the Hyatt. You’re invited, just let us know if you want to join.
