Most of our work this month focused on moving forms and signatures toward a more complete end-to-end workflow inside Vala.
As teams use Vala across more of their cases, the bottleneck becomes execution. The goal is to move from client data to completed, signed documents without jumping between tools.
This month marks a shift toward handling more of that workflow directly inside Vala.
Great connecting with many of you at NOVA. We’ll be at NACVSO later this month, so come say hi if you’re there.

What shipped
Forms → Signatures (End-to-End)
We’ve made a major push on making forms easier to prepare, edit, send, and sign inside Vala.
You can now:
Fill forms directly inside the platform
Edit and send generated forms with fewer workflow gaps
Use improved fee agreement and signature flows
Download forms with cleaner filenames
Send forms even when a signature is not required
These updates reduce manual work and make it easier to move from client data to completed documents.
This also expands what you can support in Vala, including custom forms and workflows beyond VA disability.
vSign (Beta)
As part of the improvements to forms and signatures, we’ve started rolling out our own e-signature service.
It’s currently in beta and available under Settings.
You’re able to:
Auto-populate forms
Send documents for signature
Track signature progress
Store and manage signed documents
We’re continuing to expand this, with the goal of making Vala a complete system for preparing, sending, and managing documents without relying on external tools.
Document Handling at Scale
We improved how documents are uploaded, processed, and organized.
You can now:
Upload and process larger documents more reliably
Upload zip files and handle more document formats
Search and filter documents more effectively
See clearer status when processing fails or needs attention
Rename documents during upload
This makes it easier to manage large client files and quickly find what your team needs.
Client Communication
We made improvements to client communication and inbox workflows.
You can now:
Filter inbox activity more effectively
Hide read messages for a cleaner view
Use improved message templates with auto-filled fields
Attach documents and manage client-visible documents more reliably
Get better notification behavior around client activity and signed documents
The goal is to keep teams responsive while reducing inbox noise and missed follow-ups.
Workflow Automation
We expanded what can run automatically across your workflow.
You can now:
Automatically update client status
Auto-assign team members
Auto-tag signed documents
Use improved onboarding and invite flows
These updates help teams standardize workflows and reduce repetitive work.
What we’re building next

Handle signatures and sending with fewer steps
Deeper Case Organization
We’re continuing to expand what can run automatically in the background.

Ask
If you’ve been using the new forms or trying out vSign, we’d love to hear how it’s working for you. What’s smooth, what’s not, and what you’d want to see next.
You can reply directly to this email or share feedback in the platform.
We’ll also be at NACVSO later this month.
If you’re attending, come say hi. Always helpful to connect in person and hear how teams are actually using Vala day to day.
